Second Stimulus Package Signed By Executive Order Infuriates Democrats
Republicans and Democrats were in talks for a couple of weeks in reaching a deal on the second stimulus package.
- Part of the second stimulus package was supposed to be the second round of $1,200 checks for Americans
- It is no secret that Democrats were going to use the second stimulus package as a bargaining chip for their wants and Christmas wish list
- Included in the Democrats’ proposal as a bargaining chip was helping Democrat states in dire need of a federal bailout due to their mismanagement and financial irresponsibility
- Dozens of Democrat-led states such as Illinois under the leadership of rookie freshman governor JB Pritzker is in a major financial crisis
- The financial crisis in Illinois started prior to the coronavirus pandemic
- The Trump Administration already said they were not going to bail out financially irresponsible states like Illinois
- However, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, a close ally of JB Pritzker, lobbied top Democrat leaders such as Pelosi in having bailout money for Illinois
- Now with the signing of the Presidential Executive Orders, the bailout for financially strapped states has backfired
- Many Americans who received a $1,200 stimulus check were wondering if they will be getting a second round of a $1,200 stimulus check
There were many talks in recent weeks about the second round of a $1,200 stimulus check. Are Americans going to get a second $1,200 economic stimulus check?
What Is The Latest With A Second Round Of A $1,200 Stimulus Check For Americans
It was obvious the Democrats were playing games and try to get their wish list with the second stimulus package.
- Included in the second coronavirus stimulus package was the $1,200 checks for Americans as well as bailout money for financially mismanaged states like Illinois and New York
- However, after multiple rounds of negotiations between Democrats and Republicans with no deal, President Trump pulled the trigger on issuing four executive orders on Saturday, August 9th, 2020
- The $1,200 stimulus check was not included in the President’s executive orders on Saturday
- In lieu of the $1,200 stimulus check, President Trump signed the payroll tax holiday which enables working Americans to keep more of their paychecks
However, it was not a lump-sum $1,200 stimulus check.
Four Executive Orders By President Trump On The Second Stimulus Package
President Trump on Saturday, August 9th, 2020 signed one executive order and three executive memorandums. The four executive orders President Donald Trump signed were the following:
- Additional unemployment insurance benefits
- A payroll tax holiday
- Student loan forbearance
- An eviction moratorium
Many were confused about the $1,200 checks for American workers. Can the President sign an executive order without issuing the second $1,200 stimulus check? The answer is yes. The President is issuing the payroll tax holiday in lieu of issuing the second round of the coronavirus economic stimulus check.
This does not mean the President can just instruct the U.S. Treasury to pay Americans a second round of a $1,200 coronavirus stimulus check.
The President’s executive order on deferring the collection of payroll taxes is a better stimulus than issuing all Americans a second $1,200 check. This is because it rewards working Americans. Many American workers are better off in staying home than returning to work with the combination of the stimulus and extended unemployment benefits of $600 per week.
Democrats did not waste any time in criticizing President Trump on Sunday shows. Many Democrats were so angered they called Trump names such as Trump was committing a felony.
